INSTRUCTIONS

Task 3B: Designing Telegram Sticker

Week 11 (Tue, 7 Jun 2022):

We are required to design and provide a sketch for Telegram sticker. The format will be as below:

Choose a festival: Labour Day
512 px x 512 px
Use colour theme of Taylor's logo (White, Black, Red)
Must include Taylor's logo in the design

At the beginning, this is my sketch.

After review by Mr Vinod, he said that it can be more creative such as use the text to design the shape of the hand or the helmet. I decided to choose the helmet because the hand is too difficult to design.

Week 12 (Tue, 14 Jun 2022):

After the sketches has been reviewed by Mr Vinod, he said that the idea is good but ensure that the colour theme is following the instruction given and make the illustration clearer. Other than that, it looks more like a cap instead of helmet, try to reshape it to make it looks more like a helmet.

Then, I create the design using Adobe AI.

Week 13 (Tue, 21 Jun 2022)

After showing Mr Vinod the design, he said that the word "labour" is not clear enough and suggest me to design it in the "2D" way, which is front view or side view which can make my work easier.

Therefore, I decided to redesign my "helmet". I use straight lines a lot as I want to show the effect of rigorous in the factory or site, also to show the element of architecture.

I decided to put a small spanner near the helmet so that the design would not be seen too "boring".

FEEDBACK

Week 11: Sketches of design

General Feedback: There is room of improvement as it can be more creative, minimise the usage of independent shape and make the text upstanding.

Specific Feedback: Can try to combine the shape of helmet or the hand with the "labour day" text.

Week 12: Second sketch of design

General Feedback: Overall the idea is good.

Specific Feedback: The helmet looks like a cap, reshape it to make it looks more like a helmet.

Week 13: Digitalised AI Review

General Feedback: The text is not clear enough to read and the angle of view is weird.

Specific Feedback: Use the point of view of side view for front view to make the process of design easier. Other than that, make sure use the Taylor's logo's colour as the main theme.

REFLECTIONS

Experience:

New experience and explore more complicated function of Adobe AI.

Observations:

I should improve my skill in "drawing" things and try to show the detail or characteristic of an item using minimum lines. I should leant from my classmates, a lot of them provided extremely nice outcome compared to mine.

Findings:

It is not easy in designing sticker because first the resolution is small and should make sure it is "as square as possible" which fill the formatted space to make it looks better and attractive.
