What have I learnt in this module?
It is a weird experience that for all 5 creative design modules (for my minor), Design Principles is the last module I took from all these 5 due to timetable arrangement. It was a big challenge for taking other creative media modules before Design Principles but no matter how, I somewhat managed to survive from it. Design Principles is an interesting module that we will learn some basic designing principles and it also give us chances to see other's design. I believe all these principles can be used widely in our future especially while designing anything while working in any industry.
What did I enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the process of designing because there is no right or wrong in design and it provide me a medium to express out my feeling on certain issue.
What did I not enjoy the most?
Yes, design takes a lot of time especially as I am a person that very emphasize on perfection. However, it is a very fun experience!
What have I learnt about myself through this module?
There is always improvement, and it is important for the design to be easily understand by others. Sometimes we should view our own design in the third person perspective to see what to improve.
What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
One thing that changed a lot on me through the learning journey is application of basic design principles in the design project. Before this, since I am not familiar with design theories and principles so my project might not be clear in presentation. We should always emphasize and make sure the design principles in the design is presented clear.
What could be improved in this module?
In my opinion, the module is conducted good enough because as a design module, it is more important for the lecturer to consult student's work compared with lecture class because the most important part of designing is about how we apply the principles in our project and sometime the textbook theories might not be suitable in certain design.
